Australian Lions Drug Awareness Foundation (ALDAF)

The aim of ALDAF is to promote awareness and prevention of abuse of alcohol and other drugs.

The Foundation is primarily charged with the development and provision of suitable drug awareness resources.

These materials are used, in local communities by Lions, Lioness and Leo Clubs of Multiple District 201.

In addition ALDAF seeks to involve the wider community in the work that the Lions of Australia, Papua New Guinea and Norfolk Island are doing in this most difficult field.

ALDAF currently has two key initiatives to help young people cope with the pressures of daily life.

What is Lions Quest ?

Teachers after in-service training deliver these as a part of their curriculum.

  • Skills for Growing Foundation - Year 5
  • Skills for Adolescence - Years 6 - 8

Lions Quest in Australia is a foundation to Year 8 Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program, available to all schools.

Social and emotional skills provide the foundation for dealing with anger and frustration, preventing negative behaviours.

This can lead to developing positive behaviours and possibly enhanced academic performance.
