Lionesses...who are we?
We are a group of community minded women (and men) working together alongside a Lions Club. Whilst the primary aim of Lionesses is to help others, it is not just about raising funds and providing community service, it is also about making new and lifelong friends, having FUN and being a member of a vibrant club.
Being a Lioness Club member opens up new doors to a network of friends. As a Lioness you will have the opportunity to participate in local, district, state and national seminars, forums and attend conventions. The first Lioness Club in Australia commenced in 1976.
Lionesses…what do we do?
We meet once or twice a month, depending upon the club, and work on various projects to help our local communities. Lioness clubs manage different programmes/projects which suits their members and community needs.
Lioness clubs support many of the Lions projects and Foundations (please see Lions Australia website for more information on these projects). Many clubs host Fashion Parades, morning teas, hold raffles and assist with aged care facilities. Social functions also play a part in the Lioness Calendar.
Lionesses…what is in it for you?
Being a member of a Lioness Club means you can help those in need with a group of like-minded people. You may have the opportunity to develop new skills and share your ideas for community projects. Most importantly, you will find wonderful friends.
You can make a difference.
